Friends in Need Health Center provides high-quality primary medical and dental care to uninsured and underinsured individuals across Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
Our mission is to improve health, restore dignity, and remove barriers to care through compassionate, patient-centered services.
Founded in 1993, Friends in Need Health Center was built on a simple belief — that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare. Our first clinic opened in 1995, and that founding commitment to compassion, dignity, and respect continues to guide everything we do today.
Today, Friends in Need Health Center provides comprehensive primary medical and dental care to more than 5,000 individuals every year. Our team walks alongside patients to improve their health, manage chronic conditions, and break down the barriers that have kept quality healthcare out of reach.
Friends in Need serves uninsured and underinsured individuals and families with low-to-moderate income. We do not bill insurance — every patient pays a fixed fee regardless of their coverage status.
Every patient is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or circumstances.
We deliver high-quality, evidence-based care across medical and dental services — without compromise.
We remove financial and logistical barriers so everyone in our community can access the care they need.
